Portia Zaffaroni, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Helping you feel more connected — to yourself and the people you love.
You might look like you have it together — but inside, things feel more uncertain. Maybe you're stuck in relationship patterns that leave you feeling disconnected or unseen. Maybe communication feels strained, or intimacy has started to fade. Whether you're single, dating, or in a long-term partnership, I help you make sense of what's going on beneath the surface — so you can show up more fully in your relationships and feel good about the way you connect with others.
let me be the first to tell you:
You don’t have to figure
this all out on your own.
Hi, I’m Portia — and I know how painful it is to feel disconnected from the person you’re supposed to be closest to. To crave deeper intimacy, clearer communication, or simply more ease — and not know how to ask for it, or even if it’s possible.
I spent years trying to get it “right” in relationships — saying the polite thing, avoiding conflict, and pushing down my own needs to keep the peace. But over time, that left me feeling unseen, unsatisfied, and emotionally alone. It made me question myself and what I deserved in love, especially when things looked fine on the surface.
Now, I help individuals and couples work through that same stuckness. Whether it’s miscommunication, emotional disconnection, or sex that feels more like a source of tension than connection — we untangle what’s underneath so you can start showing up more honestly and feeling more understood.
You don’t have to do it all on your own. You don’t have to settle for just coexisting. You deserve relationships where you feel safe, desired, and deeply known.

Therapy with me is —
-
We'll explore the underlying emotions and beliefs that drive your relational patterns, helping you shift from disconnection to meaningful connection.
-
There’s a time to be gentle and sensitive, and a time to be challenged. I’ll help you navigate both with compassion and clarity. I bring honesty, warmth, and a no-BS approach to help you face what’s not working—and start creating real, lasting change.
-
In our sessions, you'll find space to pause and reflect, allowing you to reconnect with yourself and your partner without external pressures.
-
Come as you are. This is a space that honours all identities, experiences, and relationship types — without shame or judgment.
How I work
Feel It. Understand It. Change It.
Whether you’re struggling to connect with a partner, avoid conflict, or feel overwhelmed by the dating world, you don’t have to navigate it all alone. Our sessions are a space where your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are met with curiosity and care — not judgment.
My work is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps us get to the heart of your emotions and how they impact connection, communication, and intimacy. We’ll explore your attachment patterns, unmet needs, and emotional blocks in a way that fosters understanding and trust — both with yourself and others. At the same time, I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to give you practical tools and strategies you can apply in everyday life — like quieting your inner critic, managing anxious thoughts, and setting boundaries that reflect your needs.
Together, we’ll break old patterns, build emotional safety, and help you feel more secure — in your relationships and in yourself.
We are a good fit if —
You feel like you’re stuck in unhelpful patterns.
You are ready to dig deep and be pushed outside of your comfort zone.
You’re open to learning new ways of relating and communicating.
You appreciate a realistic, no BS approach.
You want accountability and tools that actually lead to change.
You and your partner are ready to rebuild connection and trust.
We are not a good fit if —
You're not open to looking inward or taking responsibility for your part.
You expect quick fixes without doing the deeper work.
You’re not willing to reflect outside of sessions.
You resist emotional discomfort or vulnerability in the process.
You want advice more than self-discovery or growth.
